DRR aims to reduce the damage caused by natural and human induced hazards, as well as related environmental, technological, and biological risks through an ethic of prevention.
The intergovernmental negotiation process for the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction9 (the successor of the Hyogo Framework10) started in April 2014. The process culminated at the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction11 that took place in Sendai, Japan from March 14-18, 2015.
Since the adoption of the Sendai Framework, we have engaged in the follow up activities including, the indicators meeting, the regional follow up & implementation meetings, the science & technology road meetings..etc. You can find out more here

Deputy Organising Partners
Participation in each UN Process is facilitated through an external working group corresponding to that specific process.
The coordination of this work, including liaising with the relevant UN entity is carried out by Deputy Organising Partners (DOP). These are positions elected by the members of that specific working group, and may be member organisations or individuals nominated by member organisations.
