Habitat III- “The Third UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development” will be the one of the first global conference UN after the adoption of the Post 2015 Development Agenda. This was decided in General Assembly Resolution 66/207. It will be hosted by the Government of Ecuador in Quito during the week of the 17 of October 2016.
It aims to build the new Urban Agenda through a “concise, focused, forward-looking and action-oriented outcome document, which shall reinvigorate the global commitment”
Habitat III will be the momentum to discuss and chart new pathways in response to the challenges of urbanization and the opportunities it offers for the implementation of the sustainable development goals
Habitat III is the Third United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, due to take place in 2016.
It will be one of the first global conferences after the establishment of the Post-2015 Development Agenda.

Deputy Organising Partners
Participation in each UN Process is facilitated through an external working group corresponding to that specific process.
The coordination of this work, including liaising with the relevant UN entity is carried out by Deputy Organising Partners (DOP). These are positions elected by the members of that specific working group, and may be member organisations or individuals nominated by member organisations.
